Health Insurance is NOT a can of baked beans. Buying Health Insurance, with the many options available can be a confusing process. Terms such as Co-insurance, Maximum Out-of Pocket, even Deductible can leave prospective customers shaking their head and wondering exactly what they are buying coverage for? What is included or more importantly excluded. Is your deductible Annual or event based? What are the Exclusions and Limitations of your plan? How is a pre-existing condition covered? What are your options in health Insurance? More importantly first let’s ask: What are my needs? Are some family members covered by employer sponsored health Insurance? If you are leaving someone’s employ, what are your Continuation or COBRA options? Are they affordable? how does the Stimulus package affect this? If you are Self-Employed, what are the risks of your profession? If something happened to you and took you out of being able to provide for yourself and family for a period of time, how would you be covered and how will you even manage the costs of maintaining your plan? DON’T Make this COMMON MISTAKE in Getting individual HEALTH INSURANCE:

Don’t Make this HUGE MISTAKE in applying for Individual Health Insurance: Calling a carrier directly and applying is typically a HUGE mistake. Why? Shouldn’t I be able to call such and such insurance company and apply? Sure you can, but they can also DECLINE you. That’s right it’s 2011 not 2014 and Health Insurance Carriers can still decline you. Once they do, that’s a red flag to future applications with other Insurance Companies.
